Q. What is the most exciting thing about capturing a player in action? How difficult is it to capture quick actions during a game?
A. The most exciting thing for me is to capture ‘the moves’ of the players in action. To have a good shot, you need to have an idea of what can be the next move. I always gather some basic knowledge of the game which I’m going to shoot and it helps me a lot in capturing the most exciting moments. Indeed, it is difficult to capture those quick actions because those moments are not going to be recreated for you.
Q. You are the photographer of Pro Kabaddi League. How did it happen and how do you feel about it?
A. I am working as a sports photographer for the last 20 years and it was by my colleagues’ persuasion that I took to shooting Kabaddi as well. I couldn’t deny a new experience calling on me. And I would say that it’s been one of my best experiences. It’s more fun because the matches take place in different states and I get the opportunity to travel and explore new places.
Q. I see that you do both Wedding Photography and Sports Photography. Is it difficult to manage both these genres? Which genre do you enjoy capturing the most?

Dried and Dusted
The West Bengal state of India has always been known for its rich culture and diversity. This innate taste and style is reflected in their dishes too. Their cuisine is essentially. A lot of its flavours and masala mixes have been handed down from over a thousand years and Bengalis to this day retain those recipes which make them truly “shonar Bangla” dishes.
