I am currently sat in a small tent, roughly a metre and a half long, and the same again wide. The D850 and 300mm f/2.8 are ready to go. However, nothing’s happening. I say that, but the skylarks are belting out a tune and a blackbird’s feeding in the ditch to my left… it’s just not what I’m waiting for. Truthfully, I shouldn’t be here. Not that I’m anywhere illegal; I have permission for my small tent from the local landowner, but instead I should be in a wooden hut a good few hundred miles away, waiting for bears, however the global situation has put paid to that!
