At an age where I didn't even know the meaning of career and its importance in life, I had to choose one. I knew only two types of careers, doctor or engineer. That smile and that gratitude on the faces of the needy when relieved of pain and the picture of me in a white coat with a stethoscope fascinated me a lot. So, I chose the former. But it was the toughest phase and the heaviest competition anyone could ever face. One after the other, there were many steps to be cleared and many challenges to overcome, till I could come out as an MBBS graduate. Then started my internship and working in a government hospital; this was when I truly understood the life of a doctor.

Dancer, choreographer and teacher of Bharatanatyam, Smt. Revathi Ramachandran's repertoire has taken her to stages PAN India, Europe and America. She is the only exponent of 'Sudha Nrittam', an ancient temple dance revived by her Guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer. She has been the recipient of many awards and accolades including the prestigious Kalaimamani award.Apart from her cultural achievements, this master's degree holder in Economics, has also captained the Tamil Nadu Women's' Basketball team in early 80s.
