Children need to be nurtured by their parents and teachers during their growing years.
The swimming champion entered the school to the beat of the drums and the sound of the bugle. With students lined up on either side, clapping and cheering the winner, the teachers lovingly waiting to receive her, she walked quietly with an expressionless demeanour, basking in the celebration, softly whispering to me that she was speechless as she had least expected such a rousing reception. She was accompanied by her mother, who was composed all along. Seeing the India jacket that she was wearing, I just could not contain myself. With emotions of pride and joy, I stood there witnessing the champion being hugged and congratulated by all her teachers and most importantly, the support staff, who understood that she had achieved something momentous. They too blessed her and hugged her. With all humility, she received their blessings. 'Nurturing Students for the Nation' is what the school focuses on, and this sixteen-year old stood there as the pride of the nation by bagging a silver at the international level!
