So called ‘compact’ scopes are suddenly in vogue, and there’s no doubting that outside of the field target world, they can hold great appeal. Huge mega-mag scopes are a pre-requisite in FT, but away from this specialised discipline, a far more straightforward approach can be adopted.

The Discovery scope brand has been very active of late, and keeping up with and delivering on the demands of the airgun enthusiast has been their approach from the off. On show here is one of their latest models – the VT-3 3-12x44 SFP SF Compact, which is a delightfully diminutive scope that can be utilised where larger hardware could well just unbalance a combination.
