Armstrong Oko-Flex is enjoying life at Celtic and is aiming to help the Reserve squad to deliver success this season.

HIGHLY-RATED Celtic youngster Armstrong Oko-flex has made a promising start to his Hoops career after making the move north from Arsenal.

The 16-year-old winger has shown good progress since joining Tommy McIntyre’s Reserve squad at the start of the season, and is delighted with the opportunities available to him at Celtic, culminating in the youngster making the bench against Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Oko-flex’s performances on the pitch haven’t been the only measure of success, though. The England under-17 internationalist has also been able to test himself alongside the Double Treble winners in some first-team training sessions.

Those experiences have given him a clear view of the path he must progress along if he is to realise his dream of playing at Paradise.

Ahead of making the first-team squad at the weekend, he spoke to the Celtic View.

You recently scored a wonderful goal in the 4-1 win over Falkirk. Can you tell us how that came about?

I knew exactly what I was going to do. It was a short corner and I wasn’t meant to be on corners, but there was an opportunity to take the shot quickly so I did it. I had a lot of space

and I practice that shot a lot in training. I play on the left, so I try to curl it in the far corner. In previous matches, I’ve missed narrowly. Against Partick Thistle,I just missed, and I hit the post against Sunderland. I knew I hit it well and it was third time lucky I guess.

We’re entering the final third of the season. How has the campaign been so far?
