The 2023 Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the ODI format, with the ICC Cricket World Cup just more than a month away. The series will be seen as a dress rehearsal ahead of the coveted event T in India. The likes of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will want to bring their best cricket forward and also address several aspects of their respective squads, which will almost be the final bunch for the World Cup. India have won seven Asia Cups to date, including the 20-over format. Sri Lanka are one behind with six honors. Pakistan, India, and Nepal are pitted in Group A in the Asia Cup 2023. KOHLI CAN GET TO 13000 ODI RUNS
Senior Indian batter Virat Kohli has scored 12898 runs at an average of 57.32. He is 102 runs short of the 13000-run mark. Kohli, who recently smashed his 29th century in the longest format, is in line to become the fifth player in ODI cricket with 13000-plus runs. He can join the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (18426), Kumar Sangakkara (14234), Ricky Ponting (13734), and Sanath Jayasuriya (13430).
FASTEST TO 13000 ODI RUNS
Kohli is set to become the fastest to 13000 ODI runs. Sachin holds the record at the moment in terms of innings (321). Kohli has so far featured in just 265 ODI innings.
