The much awaited auction for IPL 2020 took place on December 19 in Kolkata. There was a lot of hype and build up to the auction despite the ongoing series between India and West Indies. It goes on to show how immensely popular IPL has been in the country. The auction changes fortunes of many cricketers. But generally, the auction is a very volatile process and getting the players of your choice at the right price is often a big challenge. But some franchises succeeded in making some steal deals. Let’s take a look at five biggest bargain buys of IPL Auction:
CHRIS LYNN-2CR
Australia’s hard-hitting batsman, Chris Lynn was picked up at an economical price of INR 2 crores by Mumbai Indians, which is a big steal. Lynn has a big reputation in T20 cricket and his hitting prowess makes him one of the most lethal players in the world. Interestingly, no other franchise showed any interest in him and he was bought at his base price. Earlier, he was with Kolkata Knight Riders but they didn’t retain him despite his good performances. Given how flat the wicket plays in Mumbai, he will be an absolutely nightmare for opponents.
