Team India has established itself as a force to reckon with in the shortest format of the game. Virat Kohli and his men have dominated teams at home as well as in foreign conditions.
Talking about the Men in Blue’s recent performances in T20Is, the team defeated Australia 2-1 Down Under before edging England 3-2 on home soil in March. Since the ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in India, Virat and Co. are favourites to lift the coveted title.
The last time India hosted a T20 World Cup, they lost out to West Indies in the semifinals. However, this time, India has the squad depth to go all the way and win the trophy for just the second time in their history. Meanwhile, here is Team India’s predicted playing XI for ICC T20 World Cup 2021:
OPENERS: ROHIT SHARMA AND SHIKHAR DHAWAN
Rohit Sharma is a well-established player in white-ball cricket, especially T20 cricket. He missed the T20I series against Australia last year due to an injury. He, however, looked in fine touch against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shikhar Dhawan, on the other hand, has a knack for performing well in ICC competitions. Considering the experience he has, and also his recent blitzkrieg, the 34-year-old is likely to retain his spot at the top of the order, despite the emergence of Ishan Kishan.
