Andrew Ayres is cooking up winners
ASCOT NOVEMBER 18 (GOOD-SOFT) 2m3f beginners chase (Class 3) Race run at a muddling pace
HELL’S KITCHEN (Harry Fry) went into the notebook after his promising efforts over hurdles last season and this strapping individual has all the physical attributes required to make a smart chaser. He was too fresh for his own good after a 231-day break here, pulling for the first half of the race before understandably getting tired in the closing stages. This big bay has bags of natural ability and will take high rank if consenting to settle.
2m introductory hurdle (Class 3) Useful form
RESOLUTION BAY (Philip Hobbs) is a handsome individual and stepped-up on his previous efforts to finish a solid third. He’s got more than enough scope to keep improving and will win again over hurdles before developing into a decent chaser.
ARGANTE (Nicky Henderson) wasn’t as fit as his odds-on stablemate Thomas Campbell but shaped better than the finishing position (sixth) suggests after being hampered when the pace quickened. He subsequently bolted-up at Fakenham on December 18 and should develop into a smart handicapper.
3m handicap chase (Class 3) Impressive winner
MINELLA DADDY (Peter Bowen) looked in fantastic shape and justified strong support to win readily under an enterprising ride. This likeable pace-pusher went close when returned to Ascot for a hot handicap on December 17 and should be placed to land a big pot this winter.
NEWBURY NOVEMBER 25
(GOOD-SOFT) 2m novice hurdle (Class 3) Strong form
