HERE we go with another Flat racing season and the Classic campaign here at Newmarket with both the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas on the Rowley Mile course this month. What a season we are in for with so many as yet unraced horses to unleash from our HQ yards.
All my Racing Club Members love me giving them horses that have never raced before as that shows them how well informed I am. You can only be as good as I am by putting the hours in out on the gallops, guessing never was any good.
HERE at Newmarket we welcome new handlers to the training ranks for the first time and all three look certain to do very well over the course of this new season. Darryll Holland has made a flying start winning with LILKIAN at Kempton with his first ever runner as a trainer. Darryll is joined in his training venture by former champion jockey Kieren Fallon, and what a right hand man to have.
Cieren Fallon junior will be stable jockey and will ride the stable’s runners whenever possible. He has to meet his obligations to Qatar Racing too as their second jockey. Adi McCarthy will be the main work rider and both Kieren and Darryll will be riding work. This venture looks certain to succeed and produce good results for the Harraton Court yard.
I hope you like this photo of the main yard showing an unraced two-year-old. The Clock Tower, like the rest of the place, has been lovingly restored by Darryll since he purchased it off Hughie Collingridge in 2007.
