WHEN Lee Dixon stepped down as Cheshire captain over the winter, the county took the bold decision to split the role between one-day and three-day formats.
In Rick Moore and Danny Leech they have turned to a pair of leaders who know each other very well – after all the duo played together at Oulton Park where Leech still plays and Moore used to captain.
This season Moore will take charge of the Cheshire team in both the Trophy and the newlyreinstated T20 competition, won by Cheshire in its only previous edition back in 2015.
And Moore, who now plies his trade for Chester Boughton Hall, is optimistic that the new split captaincy can only help Cheshire in 2018.
He said: “I think it’s just down to the fact that there’s going to be a lot of cricket with the T20 added in there as well.
“It might be a bit too much for one guy to take on. Myself and Danny working together will be quite a good thing because we’ve known each other for a long time.
“With Minor Counties stuff, it is sometimes difficult to get people available due to time off work and stuff like that.
