SAM Hain has certainly wintered well but, on the eve of the new County Championship season, the Warwickshire batsman has been playing down his superb run of form.
The 22-year-old won a first call-up to the England Lions for their tour of the West Indies last month.
And he took his chance by hammering 144 off just 122 balls, albeit in a losing effort, in the first one-dayer against a West Indies A team in Antigua, before following that up with an unbeaten 54 in the final match of the series.
Hain remained in the Caribbean to play for the North versus the South in Barbados and made scores of 48 and 51 before producing arguably his best performance of all in the Champion County match where he struck a magnificent unbeaten 140 for the MCC in their innings victory over Essex.
