Samsung Z Flip 5 - Best Gets Better
Exhibit|August 2023
The use case scenario of a flip device might be limited. However, the novelty factor of having a small device which can be easily pocketed in a clamshell form factor cannot be underestimated.

Samsung Z Flip 5 - Best Gets Better

The Z Flip 5 feels like the future in your hands as it comes with a much more refined form factor than its predecessors. The new hinge mechanism FINALLY allows the two halves of the phone to shut down rather than having a gap in between. This directly translates to the device being more aesthetically pleasing than ever before.

DISPLAY

The best part of the Samsung Z Flip 5 is its design as the aluminium finish here is classy and the cherry on top here is the new outer screen which Samsung is calling the Flex Window. It is no longer a small 1.9-inch screen but a bigger 3.4 inches screen which allows users to have additional functionality. Up to six additional widgets have been added by Samsung here which include YouTube and Netflix. While the Flex Window now allows you to have additional functionality, you cannot operate all applications on it. It looks like Samsung is convinced that users would not like to use the smaller screen as their primary screen, which is understandable. The super AMOLED Flex Window panel here is limited to 60Hz at 720 x 748 resolution. When flipped open, the Samsung Z Flip 5 presents a 6.7-inch Dynamic 2X panel with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate with 2640 x 1080p resolution. It uses the 22:9 aspect ratio which might be awkward for some but fits well to watch films. The main screen here is vibrant and stands true to Samsung standards.
