Smartwatches come in different price ranges, and most often than not, the features offered are proportionate to the price. No wonder then, that most advanced smartwatches start above the 20k range. The Amazfit T-Rex Pro promises all advanced features at a comparatively tame price.
The T-Rex Pro has a tough and stylish design. Constructed with rugged polycarbonate outer shell, the device offers, as Amazfit claims, military-grade toughness. Though we did not attempt to crawl through stones, thorns or minefields, we can certainly vouch for a high level of toughness in this device. It can endure temperature ranges from -40 to 70 degree Celsius and humidity up to 96 percent. It is resistant to salt spray, shock and up to 10 ATM of water pressure, which is roughly 100 metres of depth. The watch is available in Desert Grey, Meteorite Black and Steel Blue colours. Amazfit claims that the non-removable silicon strap is skin-friendly with a sweat-wicking design, however, we did not think so after using the watch for a considerable time. The T-Rex Pro has four buttons at 2, 4, 8 and 10 O’clock positions. The buttons and the screen have a recessed design, minimising the chance of scratches and accidental operation while working out in the gym with gloves on (the most chances of accidental operation in my experience). The watch faces are limited in number, yet the range offers some decent and refreshing designs.
