It may be a little late for us to drive the fifth generation C-Class, but being a popular model in this segment, the Mercedes-Benz C300d AMG Line is still relevant as a compact luxury sedan. The C300d was launched alongside two other cars from the W206 generation — another diesel model, the C220d and the C200 petrol variant — and features some advanced technologies that have trickled down from the top-of-the-line S-Class models.
The C300d’s styling also adopts heavily from the S-Class, especially the tail lamps and exterior accents. The radiator grille features Mercedes-Benz pattern with pins in high-gloss black. A couple of luxury niceties like illuminated stainless steel door sill panels and logo projection are also available. The exterior AMG line styling includes the front apron with sporty air intakes and chrome trim element, along with rectangular chrome trim elements in the exhaust tail pipes, high-gloss black rear bumper trim and 18-inch AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels. The C300d uses a Digital Light for headlamp, which includes a light module with three powerful LEDs in each headlamp, whose light is refracted and directed by 1.3 million micro-mirrors.
