As he gears up for his next film, Omerta, Rajkummar Rao shares how his travels not only recharge his energy but also help him hone his craft.
How does travel inspire your work?
After acting, if there is one thing that I am passionate about, it is travelling. It also helps me a lot in my work because I get to meet so many people when I am on the go. This gives me an opportunity to interact with them. I remember, during my theatre days in Delhi, I used to maintain a diary. Since I used to travel a lot within the city, I would often jot down notes about interesting people I would meet during the day. This exercise helped me analyse characteristics of people. Travelling has also helped me become a better person and made me aware of what is happening in the world. I have also developed a different perspective about life because of my sojourns.
