On George Cleverley, Daniel Day Lewis & making the shoe fit
When we had the privilege to sit down and speak with George Glasgow, we discovered George Cleverley’s success wasn’t just about making the shoe fit, but rather paying attention to the details of comfortable relationships.
Lesson learned from the legendary George Cleverley... I would have to say that the most important thing I learned from George is that quality and attention to details should always be our primary focus. We try our best to make the finest shoes by hand and work very hard to achieve what the customer is looking for in a shoe.
Unique bond between a shoemaker and his client… To me, comfort should be the most important factor! Our focus is to make the best possible looking shoes that your measurements allow us to make. Once we take a client’s measurements we can then recommend styles and what might work better for a specific customer. However, it is ultimately up to the customer to tell us what he or she is looking for. And it is up to us to make what the customer requires. Ours is always an on-going relationship and we love to build relationships with our clients, as the bespoke world is very personal.
