Just the sound of the words ‘holiday’ or ‘vacation’ are enough to put a smile on anyone’s face. Holidays are always fun and exciting – be it exploring unseen places, eating exotic food, or simply experiencing a break from the mundane life. Sadly, your hair may not get as excited as you do at the mention of holiday. From dry hair on a mountain holiday, to messy locks on a beach vacay, these are just a few of the things (read tortures) that your hair may undergo.

Broadly speaking, the three types of destinations that most of us head to are – the beaches, the mountains and the desert or safari. While each one of these are unique and enjoyable, these also come with its own set of hair horrors. Fret not, as we offer total solutions to your holiday hair woes and see that your locks look as lustrous as you.

For the beach babes The sun, the sand, and the sea…sounds picturesque, doesn’t it? No wonder Goa is India’s most favourite holiday destination undisputedly. But, this very sun, sand and sea can cause absolute havoc to your mane.

DOS AND DON’TS

It is important to protect coloured hair, or hair that has undergone protein treatments, or chemically-treated hair, from sunlight and beach and/or chlorine water. Any leave-in cream, serum, or hair mask can be used before stepping into beach water. It is important to shampoo and condition your hair well once you’re done with your beach day, to avoid further damage. And, of course, it is important to hydrate your hair, as it tends to go really dry in such an environment.
