I’ve got a new rule: Never take your kids to an open home. We went to one recently and all my daughter could say, at a volume high enough to be heard by the real estate agent, was, “We should sooooooo buy this, Dad!”
She repeated this at least 10 times during our visit just in case anyone had missed her thoughts on the property. In retrospect, angrily blurting out, “Well, why don’t you buy it then?” was a bit puerile on my part. She’s eight.
The others laughed at the child.
Actually, her behavior didn’t bother me unduly because we were not interested in the house and were merely researching what was currently on the market, known in the industry as “being nosy”.
