Life may be a shambles for his Coronation Street character, but the actor who plays Tyrone Dobbs is much luckier in love.

Alan Halsall’s relationship with former Coro actress Tisha Merry is going from strength to strength and they’re already talking about having children.

On their first anniversary last year, Alan shared, “One year. 12 months. 52 weeks. 365 days. 8760 hours. 525,600 minutes. 31,536,000 seconds… And I’ve loved every second. What a difference a year makes and what a difference you make to my life. Happy anniversary. I love you!”

While hapless Tyrone is torn between his girlfriend Alina Pop and his ex-partner Fiz Stape, Alan, 39, has eyes for nobody but Tisha, 28, who played waitress Steph Britton for five years. The pair didn’t get together until after Tisha had left the show and then they took things slowly.

Tisha remembers that when they worked together, she thought Alan was “professional and really nice”. Later, she moved near his home in Manchester and they ended up going to the same yoga classes.
