TALKATIVE THOMAS What's really causing MEGHAN PAIN

These should be some of the happiest days of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s life.

The stress of her wedding is over – now’s the time to bask in the glow of being a newlywed and ease herself into her new role with the help of her doting husband Prince Harry.

Unfortunately for Meghan, though, the fall-out from her controversial family hasn’t let up and her dad Thomas Markle has again been speaking out about his daughter’s marriage, even saying he thinks she’s frightened of her new royal life.

“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified,” he says. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.

“I’ve seen her smile for years, I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now. This one isn’t even a stage smile – this is a pained smile.”

Thomas concedes it could be possible that she might have had “a couple of bad days”, but he’s worried “she’s under too much pressure. There’s a high price to pay to be married into that family.”

In a recent interview with British media, Thomas – who didn’t attend Meghan’s wedding because he had just had a heart attack – reveals that he hasn’t spoken to Meghan since May 19, the day of her wedding.

“The phone number I have been calling Meghan on is no longer picking up,” the retired TV lighting director says. “And I don’t have an address for her.

“I sent a text to my palace contact saying I would like to reach my daughter and got no reply. It is probably the longest time I have gone without speaking to her ever.”

Thomas (74), who lives in Rosarito, Mexico, says he’s thinking about travelling to London to see Meghan because he’s so concerned about her.
