While their usual Aspen gettogether won’t take place this year, Kurt Russell, 69, and Goldie Hawn, 75, will still be having fun. With a family of actors, it’s no surprise that their favourite Christmas Eve tradition is snuggling up in front of the fire before they “choose someone to read T’was the Night Before Christmas”, shares Kurt, “and then we track Santa’s movements on the app”.

As expected, singer Mariah Carey has a very over-the-top celebration that includes sleigh rides with real reindeer while her All I Want for Chritmas is You hit plays. Growing up in a dysfunctional family, the diva never got the holiday she craved, so now that she has children of her own, it’s important to give them what she never had. “I want to make it magical for my kids,” says the 50-year-old. “It’s this kind of childlike love of Christmas that saved me. I go through so much all year long just to have a great Christmas.”
