Tell us about the medium Madame Arcati – it’s a dream of a part!
It is a dream of a part. I saw the play when my daughter [Finty Williams] played Elvira in 2016, and suddenly remembered how lovely it was. So when Ed [Hall, the director] asked me, I was delighted; I have a long history with his dad Peter Hall and he is so like him. It reminded me of when I first met Peter in 1962.
Madame Arcati is somewhat eccentric, isn’t she?
