Alison Hammond, 42, burst into our lives when she was on Big Brother back in 2002, instantly becoming a household favourite. Now she’s part of the This Morning family and has appeared on Strictly, I’m A Celebrity, Loose Women and Sugar Free Farm! Mum to Aidan, 12, and currently single, the bubbly Brummy tells us all…
You’ve been working on This Morning for years – is it still fun?
It’s so great – and it really does feel like a bit of a family. Every time I go there I get excited to see everyone, to catch up and get all the gossip! We are all really good friends. And it’s not only all the people on screen, I’m close to all the people behind the scenes too.
As the showbiz reporter, who have been your favourite people to interview?
Hugh Jackman and Will Smith. Hugh Jackman is just amazing – he’s so lovely and genuine. I’ve interviewed him so many times now that the last time I decided it was going to be a date. We drank champagne and fed each other chocolates!
You’ve also co-hosted the main show with Rylan Clark-Neal – how was that?
That did feel like a lot of pressure because there’s a lot of things all going on at once. It’s daunting, you’re anchoring the whole thing. But because you’ve got such an amazing team who are all there to make you look great, it wasn’t really that hard to be honest with you. Everybody wants you to do well.
We saw you performing on Let’s Sing And Dance For Comic Relief – how was that?

'THAT'S NOT MY BABY'
Lying in the hospital bed, my husband Michael had tears of happiness in his eyes as he showed me a photo on his phone. 'Here she is,' he said proudly. 'This is our beautiful baby girl.'I stared at the photo and shook my head. 'No, that's not my baby,' I said. 'There must be a mistake.'It was August 2010 and I'd not long before had an emergency caesarean. I'd not had a chance to see Winnie when she arrived as she'd been whisked away for tests because she was nearly two months premature.
