Wearing no make-up and with her hair scraped back into a ponytail, Lorraine Kelly doesn’t look a day over 50, as we beam into her kitchen via video link.

‘I started comfort eating,’ she tells Woman’s Own. ‘I started having bigger portions of stuff. Lots of chips, lots of the type of food that you just know is not good for you. But I found that my clothes were getting tight. I thought, “I’ll just buy the 12 instead of the 10,” and then last year I thought, “Ah, I’ll just get the size 14,” and then the size 14s were getting too tight and I thought, “Hang on, this is a slippery slope and I have to stop this because actually it’s not healthy.”’
