Wearing no make-up and with her hair scraped back into a ponytail, Lorraine Kelly doesn’t look a day over 50, as we beam into her kitchen via video link.
Dressed down in tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie, we can hardly believe we’re chatting to the glamorous telly star whom we’ve all come to know and love. But now it’s Lorraine’s turn to answer the questions and the 62-year-old is here to confess that the pandemic has made her turn her life around.
‘I started comfort eating,’ she tells Woman’s Own. ‘I started having bigger portions of stuff. Lots of chips, lots of the type of food that you just know is not good for you. But at the time, you think, “I’m craving that”. It was very gradual, as these things tend to be, so I didn’t really notice it. I was going to work and I was lucky that I was working every single day. But I found that my clothes were getting tight. I thought, “I’ll just buy the 12 instead of the 10,” and then last year I thought, “Ah, I’ll just get the size 14,” and then the size 14s were getting too tight and I thought, “Hang on, this is a slippery slope and I have to stop this because actually it’s not healthy.”’
