What made you decide to write your new book with your mum, Diane Piper? 

I went on Loose Women on Mother’s Day with my mum last year, she read extracts from her personal diary and I realised there was a lot I didn’t know. I’d always wanted to write a parenting book, so we decided to put the two ideas together.

What was it like hearing your mum’s thoughts following your acid attack? 

Some of it was painful, but some of it was uplifting. Like, ‘Wow, I can get through anything if she can get through that.’
