It’s time to reflect and set your sights on making 2020 your best year

Reset Your Life Compass

An exciting new year is dawning and it’s the ideal time to run a health check on your life. Our experts are here to guide you through smart ways to maximize your time, relationships, finances, and work, so you’ll arrive at the end of 2020 in an even better place.

1 Achieve more for less effort

In the evolutionary scramble that has taken us from hunting woolly mammoths to juggling 101 things (while checking our phones and watching Netflix), we now risk burnout or losing our mojo altogether. Graham Allcott says by becoming a productivity ninja, we can focus on what really matters each day and reduce our stress levels. Zen-like calm is the first thing to master at a ninja training school. To keep a clear head, recognize you can never get everything done, but you are in control of selecting the right things to do. Steel yourself to say no, so you don’t bite off more than you can chew, and practice framing your polite refusals with this three-point rule: ‘No, because, but.’ For example, ‘No, I can’t bake muffins for the church fête on Sunday because I’m making cupcakes for school, but I will make a few extra for you.’
