We take breaths around 25,000 times a day but it’s not something we usually put much thought into. James Nestor, author of Breath: The New Science Of A Lost Art, worked with scientists and medical experts to uncover the right way to breathe.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

“Most of us breathe too much and too often,” James explains. “When we over-breathe, we actually deny ourselves access to oxygen. The key is to breathe in line with our metabolic needs, which for most of us, means breathing less than we normally do.”
