How Cancer Became My Greatest Gift

A shock diagnosis inspired this mum-of-three to beat a lifetime of obesity

Little did Queensland mum Taryn Turl know that being diagnosed with cancer on her 40th birthday would turn out to be the best present she could ever have received.

For as devastating as the news was, it gave Taryn the courage to tackle her 130kg frame and embark on a Lite n’ Easy weight-loss program that she now feels ultimately saved her life.

“I was on a one-way track for a stroke or a heart attack for sure,” she says. “While I certainly didn’t think so at the time, I can now say cancer saved my life.”
