JUDI DENCH ‘I STILL FEEL 39!'

The actress has no plans to stop working anytime soon

With a career that has spanned more than six decades and resulted in countless awards and honours being bestowed upon her, Judi Dench would be more than justified in putting her feet up and never working again. But the star of screen and stage, whose performances have made her one of the most acclaimed actresses of all time, has no intention of giving up her day – and sometimes night – job.

Indeed, the entertainment legend, who turns 87 on December 9 and once claimed she never turns down a gig, plans to continue acting as long as she can. In fact, she’s said the worst thing about the pandemic was that it prevented her from getting on stage or in front of the camera.

However, the only role she is not interested in is “probably an 86-year-old woman who’s not able to see.

“I’m not going to play that part, thanks,” she joked to The Guardian earlier this year.

FIGHTING ON

The reference to sight difficulties is due to her diagnosis in 2012 with macular degeneration – a disease that causes vision impairment. But Judi hasn’t let that stop her acting.
