Birthday Bombshell Jamie Breaks Katie's Heart

Just when she thought a proposal was on the cards

They were widely reported to be planning a lavish wedding in Paris, but just as we were about to buy our hats, rumours have emerged that Jamie Foxx has blindsided Katie Holmes by ending their five-year relationship … over the phone!

“Katie and Jamie are through,” claims an insider. “He dumped her. Jamie called Katie up and told her he needed his space. He was pretty blunt.”

The break-up reportedly happened just after her 40th birthday on December 18, with the Oscar-winning actor, 51, said to have grown bored of the former Dawson’s Creek star’s reluctance to go public with their relationship, perhaps because of the strict rules of her divorce settlement with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

“He told Katie he didn’t think she would ever really be ready to commit, that he couldn’t wait any longer and that this was the best thing for both of them,” alleges the insider. “She sobbed and begged Jamie to reconsider, but it was too little, too late for him.”

The report comes just as Katie and the Robin Hood actor, who have never publicly acknowledged their relationship, appear to be becoming more open about their undercover romance. Last January, the pair were photographed together at a pre-Grammys party. In July, the stars were snapped kissing, wrestling and playing volleyball in Malibu.
