When Victoria and David Beckham married in 1999, they were so certain of their love that they didn’t bother signing a pre-nuptial agreement.

Fast-forward 18 years and a source close to the famous couple has told Woman’s Day that, in the clearest sign yet that their marriage is in crisis, the couple has asked lawyers to create a “post-nup” contract.

The pair have been carefully managing their social-media accounts to give the illusion of togetherness, but in reality they’ve been living separate lives for several months and insiders say divorce is a matter of when, not if.

“There was no doubt that they were head over heels when they tied the knot,” says our source. “With Victoria being a pop icon at the time and David a football star, money was no object. They forked out for an Irish castle, purple carpets, doves, rose petals, flower girls dressed as angels, a cake cut with a sword and his-and-hers gold thrones!

“They were so in love, it was inconceivable they would ever part ways and even discussing a future division of assets seemed ridiculous.”
