Behind palace walls, the little prince is being prepared to rule

Dressed in a crisp suit with a perfectly knotted tie as he cheered on the English soccer team, young Prince George carried himself with remarkable maturity and dignity at the recent Euro Cup final – aside from an adorable flash of unbridled jubilation when his team scored a goal.

Despite his tender years, it was a sign of things to come for the little prince, who is destined to rule the Commonwealth asking.

A week after the football match, Kensington Palace shared a photo of George – snapped by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge – to mark his eighth birthday. This time, he was dressed in a casual polo shirt and flashed a toothy grin reminiscent of his dad Prince William at the same age.

And that’s not where the similarity with his father ends, with palace insiders revealing that George is now being prepared for his future as the one to inherit the crown, just as Wills was at eight years old.

While the little prince is said to be aware that “one day he’ll be king and he finds that exciting”, his parents are determined to give him a normal life. While William was packed off to boarding school at this age, he and Kate are not planning to send their son away.
