Graceful Bride - Charlotte Marries Her Prince Charming

The newlyweds celebrate in stunning style

Charlotte Casiraghi never met her iconic grandmother Princess Grace, but the young Monaco royal went all out to honour her Hollywood roots at her wedding last week.

The 32-year-old daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover exchanged vows with French film producer Dimitri Rassam, 37, at Monaco’s Prince’s Palace on June 1 and the bride was determined not to leave out her glamorous grandmother, who died in a car accident four years before she was born.

For the civil ceremony in the palace throne room, Charlotte wore a stone-coloured brocade mini dress by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, echoing the short pink dress Grace wore for her civil ceremony wedding to Prince Rainier at the palace in 1956.

After saying “I do”, Charlotte once again gave a nod to her Oscar-winning grandmother by changing into a strapless Chanel gown with a bodice reminiscent of the white gown Grace Kelly wore in the 1955 film To Catch a Thief.

To top it off, her hair was sleeked into a wavy Grace Kelly bob, and draped around her neck was the three-strand diamond necklace that Prince Rainier gave to his bride as a wedding gift.
