As Nicole Kidman’s marriage and career go from strength to strength, her husband Keith Urban has decided now is the perfect time to give his wife the ultimate romantic gift – a luxurious home in New York so she can pursue her Broadway dream.

A well-placed insider tells Woman’s Day that the country crooner, 50, has splurged on a $58 million, six-storey, seven-bedroom mansion in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, which was once home to Michael Jackson. The 1.3-hectare property also boasts a grand oak staircase, 10 fireplaces and a private roof deck.

An overwhelmed Nicole was touched when Keith revealed he made the purchase so she can pursue her goal of performing on stage in the Big Apple’s theatre mecca, following her successful starring role in Photograph 51 in London’s West End in 2015.

“Nicole is keen to do Broadway shows and get into making TV programmes, and New York is a much better place for them to be than Nashville,” says our insider, adding that the city will also provide their children, Sunday, nine, and Faith, six, with better education options.
