Prince William was stopped in his tracks on his historic solo visit to the Middle East by a very familiar face.

The royal was touring the ancient ruins of the city of Jerash in Jordan last week, accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein, when he encountered a poster-sized photo of his wife Catherine visiting the very same spot with her family as a child.

The enlarged 1986 snap of the four-yearold Duchess of Cambridge with her younger sister Pippa and dad Michael Middleton had been sneakily arranged by Hussein, 23, causing William to laugh, “Michael’s looking very smart in his flip-flops. I need to come back with the family for this shot!”
