For the man who gifted the world with Easy Lover, Phil Collins’ love-life has been anything but straight forward.
“I am disappointed that I have been married three times and even more disappointed that I have been divorced three times,” the Genesis rocker, 69, said after it was shockingly revealed his third wife, Orianne Cevey, had secretly married another man.
Phil and Orianne originally divorced in 2006 before reconciling a decade later. However, in August, the 46-year-old Swiss jewellery designer wed struggling musician Thomas Bates, 31, in Las Vegas, despite still living in Phil’s $40 million Miami mansion and telling him she was leaving town “on business”.
After hearing of the news, Phil, who is reportedly worth $250 million, flew back from the UK where he’d been rehearsing for a reunion tour and ordered the couple to leave his home before taking his ex-wife to court.
Orianne has since filed a counterclaim, seeking “approximately $20 million” from the musician in order to leave the home.
The pair first met in 1994 when Orianne was working as his translator during his tour of Switzerland. Phil was in the process of splitting from his second wife, Jill Tavelman. They married five years later and have two sons together, Nicholas and Matthew.
RECONCILIATION
In 2006 they filed for divorce with Orianne reportedly walking away with $46.68 million in the divorce settlement. She quickly married her second husband Charles Mejjati and had a son.
Phil and Orianne surprised everyone when they reconciled in 2015, with Phil relocating to Miami and buying Jennifer Lopez’s former palatial pad.
