It was an unlikely friendship developed through shared grief and loss – and now sources say Terri Irwin and John Travolta are taking the next step in their relationship.

Just months after Woman’s Day first reported they were becoming close after being set up by their mutual friend Olivia Newton-John, we’re told Terri is preparing to fly to the US to be by John’s side.

“John has enjoyed Terri’s company over the phone so much that he invited her and her family to visit,” says a source. “He was thrilled when she took him up on the offer.”

Our insider says John, a qualified pilot, even joked that he should “dust off his Qantas plane” that he has parked on his property in Ocala, Florida, and fly to Australia.
