Theirs was an obstacle-strewn journey to the altar, with break-ups and make-ups galore. But when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth tied the knot in an intimate ceremony last December, it seemed the showbiz A-listers finally had their happy ever after.

But the star-crossed lovers’ marriage, in the end, lasted just 230 days. And after explosive photographs were published last week of Miley kissing and canoodling with fashion entrepreneur and influencer Kaitlynn Carter, she and her Hunger Games hunk are set for one of the biggest divorces in Hollywood history as they battle it out for their joint $340 million fortune.

“While Miley and Liam have issued a statement saying they’re ‘lovingly taking time apart’, behind the scenes it’s a very different story,” claims an insider. “They’re at war with one another and their only contact is through their lawyers.”

There’s certainly far more to this break-up story than either Miley, 26, or Liam, 29, are keen to talk about right now.

Just hours after their bombshell split confirmation made headlines around the world, these raunchy photographs of a bikini-clad Miley cuddling up to Kaitlynn by a hotel pool at Lake Como in Italy hit the internet.

A week earlier Kaitlynn, 30, had announced her own split from husband Brody Jenner, 35, and multiple sources confirm that she’d been seeing Miley for months.

While some pals have said the girls aren’t in a “real relationship”, another source close to the “Wrecking Ball” singer alleges, “Miley and Kaitlynn are a couple and Miley dumped Liam for her.

“Miley made the decision she felt was right. That’s what she’s telling people. There’s no going back now – not that Liam would ever take her back after this. She broke his heart.”
