Prince William made it crystal clear last week that he would no longer tolerate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s disrespectful behaviour, reportedly by denying their request to christen their daughter Lilibet at Windsor Castle.
It was widely believed that Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, wanted to christen the four-month-old infant at St George’s Chapel, in a similar private service held for her big brother Archie, two, in 2019. “The thinking was they wanted the Queen to able to attend, given their daughter is named after her,” says a source.
But according to NBC royal correspondent Neil Sean, their best laid plans have been thwarted by William – and our insiders say it’s rapidly escalated the feud between the 39-year-old future king and his little brother.
“There was one person who basically decided there wasn’t an appetite for this, and the person is seemingly not willing to kiss and make up with his younger brother. According to a very good source, William was the one who said, ‘No, this isn’t going to work, this isn’t a very good idea.’”
And now, a source close to Harry and Meghan, speaking to Woman’s Day exclusively, reveals the unbearable continuing tension between the Sussexes and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in fact began from a falling out between Meghan and William.
“It was in the months before the royal wedding, Meghan had come on board as Harry’s fiancee and the plan was for them to fold into Kensington Palace operations,” says the close insider.
