It doesn't have to cost a bomb.
There are a lot of people who are house proud, and they love to redo their homes. Here are a few pointers on how you can go about it a little systematically, so you can save a little and go crazy when needed. Whatever we do, a little research is always good, it goes a long way. Research is the best thing to do and that way you know what you are getting into and confidently pick and choose.
Sort out your prized possessions
We already have a few collectables. They seem rather jaded. Other people seem to have such nice homes, and you want that too. But here is a pointer that will make you happy. I have a couple of friends, who are very wealthy. They are in the brewery business, and money is to by no means a constraint. They usually do their house up every three years. Then they throw a party, like a housewarming, just to let friends see, the house and their excuse to call and return the hospitality that they have enjoyed. The way they have their house redesigned is amazing. It looks reinvented each time and absolutely gorgeous. But if you look at a painting or a charcoal sketch, and enquire about the artist, my friends just shrugs and explain it was all the decisions of the interior designer. That works for some, who don’t mind their home being decorated in such an impersonal way. You can do it differently and smartly. Sort out your prized possessions, put them together, and remember they get the place of honour in the display!
Coins or other small collections
If you have collected old silver coins and old tender, then have them set inside a wooden box or even better, since minerals are trending, pick a few natural minerals and throw them all into a nice mason jar and, yes, one display is ready.
