CLAIRE KING won the Wynnstay hunt scurry (5 April) on Cesar Et Rosalie by a considerable margin, with Guy Sankey in second and Susannah Stanning third.
Claire and her 12-year-old former racehorse have several hunt race victories to their credit, but success so far this season had just eluded them.
“He’s been so super-keen and charging about thinking he knows best. I haven’t been able to hold or steer him! He just loves it, I reckon,” said Claire. “It came right today, and luck was on my side.”
Given the recent weather, it was no surprise that the ground for the three-mile course, held on the Greenall family’s land, was soft.
