Bentley is a company steeped in history and has a rich and colourful heritage that talks of racing legends, trial, tribulation and turmoil and finally successes and victories. With changing times due to the aftermath of the deadliest pandemic one has seen in modern times as well as the focus on environment, the company, like the entire industry, is trying to stay abreast of changing regulations, government ambitions and deadlines around the world.
Being part of the Volkswagen Group has helped as it has been the first amongst super luxury car companies to launch an SUV, and that has found it new markets and clientele with a renewed focus on India.
What sparked Bentley’s focus on India was when the last of each of the Bentley cars with W12s was put on the block for sale by a global auction. Of the four cars on sale, two were bought in India with buyers having also evinced interest in buying the third.
Besides after seeing the success of its sister brand Lamborghini in India, the company feels it has the right products for the country and as one of the start points brought us journalists to visit its headquarters in Crewe.
While I have been to Crewe a long time back, it seems a lot has changed since then.
