The world's premier motorcycle exhibition - EICMA made a triumphant return to Milan for 2023. Also known as the Milan Motorcycle Show, this has been held in the Italian city for more than a century now and been a host to a few hundred exibitors each year. Compared to last year, EICMA 2023 had new participants in the form of some upcoming two-wheeler brands. Indian brands like Royal Enfield, Ultraviolette and Hero MotoCorp showcased their latest and greatest, especially in the form of products meant for the European markets. Many motorcycles made their global debuts in Milan, such as the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, the KTM Duke 990, Honda CB600RR, Kawasaki Ninja 500, Suzuki GSX-8R and quite a few more.
ULTRAVIOLETTE
The Indian brand delivered on its promise of international expansion by making its European debut at EICMA. The Euro-spec F77 is actually the top-spec Limited variant of which the brand only sold 77 units in India. This comes with a 40.7bhp and 100Nm motor paired to a 10.3kWh battery pack. However, the highlight was the new-gen F99 racing motorcycle. The second-gen F99 racing platform now comes with active aero using carbon fibre panels and winglets. The e-motor of the F99 produces 122bhp which converts to a 0 to 100kmph time under 3 seconds and a top speed of 265kmph. The battery is air cooled while the motor and controller are liquid-cooled. It uses Ohlins suspension units, Brembo brakes, underbraced milled swingarm and a number of upgrades compared to the F77.
