BORGWARNER HAS recently established a 26,500 square foot Technical Centre in the Kundalahalli suburb of Bangalore, India. The new technical centre will have capacity for up to 250 engineers who will focus on systems software development, fuel handling design and mechanical simulation for internal combustion engines, and H2 engine management systems. In addition to meeting the needs of commercial and passenger vehicle makers in India, the site will also support BorgWarner’s other global technical centres.“The team provides essential support to many global OEM programmes. We’re also proud to work with several prestigious Indian customers and continuously look for opportunities to better serve them,” said Federico Morales-Zimmermann, Vice President of Global Product Engineering, Sales and Business Development, BorgWarner Fuel Systems.
In what core competencies does the Bengaluru workforce specialise?
The tech centre in Bengaluru specialises in the complete development of automotive embedded software from Requirements Analysis, to System Design, Coding, and Verification and Validation for various internal combustion engines like diesel, petrol, hybrids, flex-fuel powertrains, CNG and hydrogen. The numerical simulation team has expertise in digital simulation and has played a pivotal role in supporting product design and development activities using CAE simulation and analysis technologies. On the other hand, the fuel-handling team specialises in developing cost-effective solutions for the Asia-Pacific(APAC) market on fuel delivery modules.
