A delay in remedial work gives a chance to sample what we're missing
ALASTAIR CLEMENTS
PEUGEOT E-308 SW

In my last report, I was waiting for a new grille to be delivered to: complete the repairs to the e-308 after it had been shunted by a works truck. Happily, the part arrived within a few days. Less happily, I then got another call from the bodyshop, Fleetline in Croydon, to tell me that there was another issue, which would result in a further delay.

Prior to the final refit, the radar, camera and daylight-running sensors have to be calibrated, but when the repairers attempted this, they found the sealed units were full of condensation, making the job impossible. Because this was in a different area from the crash damage, and thus was thought to be unrelated, the work would have to be covered under warranty, which meant sending the car to local dealer Robinson Day for assessment and approval.
