Sportback Time

With the 2022 e-tron Sportback, Audi successfully combine electrification, performance, and unique SUV-coupé style.

AUDI INDIA RECORDED A STAGGERING 101 per cent increase in sales in 2021 as a result of their EV launch frenzy last year. Sales for Audi have increased by 49 per cent just in the first half of this year. Compared to their luxury automaker competitors, Audi India, who have already entered the EV market in the country, provide the broadest selection of electric vehicles currently.

Audi have said that from 2033, they will only be concentrating on electric automobiles. This suggests a switch from internal combustion engines to electric power. They will no longer produce internal combustion engines as a result of this. But you need not worry, the 2022 Audi e-tron Sportback, the crown jewel of the e-tron line-up, combines outstanding Audi Sport performance with a set of more striking design elements. While the original e-tron SUV series continues to be sold in India, Audi's growing e-tron sub-brand has added stylish e-tron GT four-door coupés and a variety of sport utility vehicles (SUV) worldwide.

Audi's name for their four-door coupé, whether it be in sedan or SUV shape, is "Sportback". To the casual observer that means a roof-line that gently curves towards the back of the car, giving it a much more eye-catching coupé-like shape. The front portion of the SUV stays unaltered. It features the same big (albeit largely covered) single-frame grille, stylish 20-inch alloy wheels, slim digital Matrix LED headlamps with their four-slat e-tron Sportback characteristic, and twin charging outlets on each of the front fenders. Plasma Blue Metallic, the colour of our test car, is only available on the Sportback, but many other colour options are available as well. Unlike the Sportback models based on Audi sedans, these don't have frameless windows, but if you can get over that, the e-tron Sportback gets a serious dose of elegance from the sloping roof.
