The Trident brand has seen a rise in fortunes with even more models being added to the portfolio and the brand appeal. We had an opportunity to ask Bojan Jankulovski, Brand Head of Maserati India, a few questions. Here are the excerpts

Car India (CI): It's been just over seven years since the Maserati brand formally made its début in India. How has the response been thus far? Is the festive season looking particularly promising?

Bojan Jankulovski (BJ): Maserati consumers are evolving and giving a lot more importance to whether a brand resonates with their lifestyle and personality. Thus, as carmakers, we have tried to understand our ever-growing market and offer a product line-up based on these needs. With that, Maserati has managed to achieve fame amongst the Indian luxury connoisseurs for the design, style, and performance of our unique cars and this artistry and exclusivity of a Maserati distinguishes it from the clutter.

Smaller cities like Mangalore, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Goa, among others, have shown an increase in demand for luxury vehicles. The latest design trends and technological innovations are the main priorities of the buyers in these cities. These emerging markets are driven by the evolved customer base coupled with higher disposable incomes. Due to this, Maserati is expecting higher demand before, during, and after the festive season as well.

The Hybrid models of Ghibli and Levante have been introduced recently. Has this affected the volumes in the segment positively and, maybe, even expanded the reach? 

With the new Ghibli Hybrid, we announced our entry into the world of electrification recently. The new Ghibli Hybrid represents one of the most driven projects for Maserati and the choice to introduce the hybrid technology in the Ghibli sedan is no coincidence. This was followed by the launch of the Levante Hybrid in India.
