It's no secret that the Tiguan has been a firm favourite of ours in its segment, and there are multiple reasons for that. First, we think it's a fantastic looking product and while retaining the Volkswagen brand identity, the company's designers have done a great job at designing an SUV that looks classy and yet futuristic at the same time. This has been greatly enhanced recently with the additions of the intelligent and adaptive ID. LED matrix lights at the front and dark LED taillights at the back that give both ends of the car a rather cutting-edge look. Of course, one of the things that the Tiguan also gets right is the option of ordering it in bright colours - other than bog standard white, black etc - and that gives it another edge over the competition as the SUV stands out much more in a crowd.
TIMELY UPDATE
But the reality is that the Indian automotive moves so quickly that automakers have to be on the top of their game to keep customers happy. In this endeavour, Volkswagen India has just updated the Tiguan by adding some much-needed features to the SUV to make sure their customers are happy. First up, while the older Tiguan featured an all-black interior - we loved that interior, but Indian customers have shown a tendency to prefer lighter colours - the updated Tiguan now comes with Storm Grey and Black two-tone interiors. While this also gives the inside of the Tiguan a new look, more importantly the lighter shade, along with the massive panoramic sunroof makes the interior look much more spacious and its occupants will certainly get a feeling of airiness to it.
